And what a retreat it was. I and my fellow Wishcrafters communed with nature and dug deeply into our very souls. We contemplated the meaning of life and solved all of the world's problems.
Okay, what we really did was eat and drink in excess, laugh a whole lot, and tried to figure out how we can live our dreams sooner rather than later. We went to a lovely lakehouse at Lake Tawakoni (Thanks, Dean!) and just got away from everything for a while. Just an overnight, but it was nice.
Now it's back to real life--eek! My cat is mad at me, I have e-mails out the wazoo, laundry to do, and my book hasn't magically written itself in my absence. (Darn those book fairies. Are they on strike this week or what?)
I saw lots and lots of interesting birds. Most I have seen before, but not for a long time: turkey vultures, scissortail flycatchers, eastern bluebird, red-winged blackbirds, great blue herons, great egrets, coots, mallards, even a bald eagle. Two birds to add to my list: greater yellowlegs, and Forster's tern.
Have a great weekend,
Kara
