One of those days ...

Where everything took longer than it was supposed to. I had to do a cover for a new book Rob is publishing (www.booksforabuck.com). The book isn't out yet--next week some time. But it took forever. Several things I tried just didn't work and I had to start over. After lunch, I made Rob help me set up my new bird feeder. It took the white-wing doves about thirty seconds to find it. It's much too small of a feeder for those big fat-ass birds, but they figured it out. They land on the roof then crawl down, turn upside down and feed that way.

I like the doves. But they're pigs.

I also set up a hummingbird feeder and a second suet feeder, since I finally have woodpeckers. I still have some exotic migratory birds in the yard--Swainson's Thrush and that other guy, the UNSUB flycatcher who won't sing so I can't narrow it down.

Okay, okay, I did NO writing today, except to write a book review. The day just got eaten up, which is what happens if you don't make writing a priority, which today I didn't. I hope to make it up over the weekend but I've already got a couple of commitments. Just not enough hours in the day! (I did get my royalties--YAY.)

Have a great weekend,
Kara
