I've been fiddling with this story all day and I'm no closer to getting it figured out. (Actually I spent a lot of time napping and staring at the TV hoping inspiration would strike, but I've been in this business long enough to know it doesn't work like that!)
The only fun thing is that the flock of cedar waxwings returned to my yard today and I got a really good look at them. They are the cutest little birds. They were eating china berries, which are about as big as their heads. They like to eat hanging upside down--they swing on their perches like a gymnast on the parallel bars. One of them flew up to a berry, grabbed it in his beak, then stopped flapping his wings so he was hanging from the berry. The berry came loose and he gracefully landed on a branch below. Agile little beasts.
Got a phone call from a woman I was in a workshop with many years ago. We talked for about an hour--it was really fun, and we're going to get together. I really admire people who can just pick up the phone and call someone out of the blue! I'm always too shy to do that.
Tomorrow I begin the final edit on GOOD HUSBAND MATERIAL so no more being a bum!
Thanks for visiting,
Kara
