GOOD HUSBAND MATERIAL Page-O-Meter: 252/250 pages, or 100.008 percent.
Unfortunately, I'm still not finished with the book, but at least I have enough pages. I should finish this weekend.
Rob and I walked to the library, then to Fiesta for the ever-popular Rice Krispy Treats, which I have sworn off of.
I had a nice, birdy afternoon. I made up some more suet (with peanut butter and apple bits) and, while I didn't see any birds interested in that, I did see birds. Doves everywhere--white-winged, Inca and mourning doves. They were making lots of noise, courting and eating and flying around, or snoozing in the trees. I also got a brief glimpse of the cedar waxwings again--a flock of about six--and one goldfinch. A starling seems to have co-opted the nice tree hole that my woodpecker was scoping out for his nest. Much as I don't really like starlings, I enjoyed watching this one try to convince his lady friend that his nest location was exactly the fixer-upper home she wanted. She kept flying away and he kept chasing after her and luring her back. The cardinals were singing up a storm, also trying to attract mates. Blue jays were very active and noisy. In another couple of weeks the trees will leaf out (we're already seeing blooms and the first, faint green of budding leaves) and I won't be able to see as much.
I finished judging the contest I was working one (the one after I finished the Ritas).
Rob and I went to Hunky's for date night. It's just a hamburger joint, but good. We walked around and discovered our Bishop Arts Floral is gone! That was my favorite store in the whole world. I used to do lots of Christmas shopping there. Lots of local artists sold their stuff there--really nice ceramics, handmade papers, unique Christmas ornaments and cool cards.
Now I'm off to read for pleasure for a while. I don't get to do enough of that.
Thanks for stopping by,
Kara
