Snow!

I can't remember ever seeing snow in April before. Not much, just a little. But there it was, as we walked home from Norma's this morning, and again later when we were at the Dallas Museum of Art (actually at the Nasher Sculpture Gallery) having lunch.

Rob and I went to the museum with Rob's folks, and his mom's childhood friend and her husband. There was a Matisse exhibit going on. It was actually very interesting--it highlighted Matisse's sculpture work, which he did strictly as "study" pieces for his paintings. He had some rather odd ideas about his work, like, he didn't call himself a sculptor, he thought of himself as a painter who sculpted. Anyway, he painted a whole lot of naked women. The exhibit also included some of his contemporaries and predecessors that influenced his work, and some of the things he used as models (when he didn't use live models) like pictures from magazines.

We had pasta salad, sandwiches and leftover Mexican food for dinner, as well as a bottle of Spanish red wine which I rather enjoyed. After dinner Rob and I zipped out to the Fiesta because we were all craving something sweet. We bought a chocolate cake from the bakery and some ice cream. The cake was a real disappointment--dry and tasteless. But the ice cream was good.

Happy Easter, everyone!

Kara
