I am sitting here listening to frogs croaking outside. Frogs. I honestly haven't heard them in years.
Yes, I'm in Dallas where it's flooding. I am only about three miles from the Trinity River, but I don't think the banks have risen that much! Where did these frogs come from? Have they been lying dormant, buried until the rains brought them back to life? If anyone knows, please tell me. I don't even know what kind of frogs they are except they have very high pitched croaks, almost cricket-like.
It rained again almost all day, at times a torrential downpour. Every time I went to get in my car, it started up! I drove to critique group in the rain, lunch, home from lunch, yoga, home from yoga. I love the rain, I really do, but this is a bit much. A few weeks ago we were in such serious drought that they were saying it would take years to recover. Now? The lakes are so high that most will be closed for July 4.
We ate at Cafe Brazil for lunch--one of my old favorites. Yoga was lovely. Between times I finished proofreading my galleys and folding laundry. Tomorrow I get my security system re-installed, and I get to go to the eye doctor. Yippee. Probably another day I won't get to write very much. I need some long, uninterrupted days to get a handle on these revisions.
Oh, I have a blog on the Harlequin American Blog on Friday, June 29 (tomorrow or today or yesterday, depending on when you read this!) I hope you'll cruise over there (http://HARauthors.blogspot.com) and give me a read.
All best,
Kara
