One step forward

And two steps back. My agent has some strong reservations about the book I just sent her. She wants me to do major revisions. I know this is just part of the process, and her suggestions make perfect sense to me, but I really thought I was done with this book. I think I need to let it sit a while longer before taking another run at it.

I'll let her comments sink in for a few days, as I always do. Revision letters always look worse when you first read them. Then, when you start breaking them down into smaller bites, it's not so overwhelming.

I made a lot more progress on the new book. I decided to work on my synopsis and let go of the storyboard for a while. I normally use the synopsis to plot, so I guess trying to storyboard first is not part of my process. The synopsis writing is clarifying everything for me and ensuring I have continuity. Still have a ways to go, though. Baby steps.

I didn't leave the house today. It was dreary and raining or drizzling and I just didn't have the will to walk on such a day. I did have a nice yoga class. I found classes you can download as mp3 files. Pretty cool.

Thanks for listening,
Kara
