I looked out in the backyard this morning and saw little yellow finches everywhere. They weren't at my feeder, but mostly up in this one tree feasting on some kind of berry. I saw about ten of them, I think, plus a pair of house finches. That one flummoxed me for a while because it had a bright orange throat and head area, rather than the pinkish red I'm used to. But the orange is a variant.
Other than watching the birds, I did all my usual stuff today--writing, reading, yoga, walking, riding my trainer. Oh, speaking of bicycling--The Tour de California kicked off yesterday. I hadn't realized Levi Leipheimer and Ivan Basso, two of my favorite cyclists, were riding with Discovery Team. Levi won the prologue, but was in a crash today and probably lost the yellow jersey. I can't find the standings yet--there's not as much coverage as with the Tour de France!
Not much else going on. Oh, I did commit to doing another workshop, in September. This is a big year for me doing the public speaking. I think the fact my RWA chapter put a speakers' bureau on our website has helped a lot, because most of the invitations I'm getting are from people who have scoured the website.
