Quiet Day

I was able to get a lot of writing done and go for a nice walk. I fixed rice florentine for dinner (that's my own invention, rice with spinach, cheese, and toasted nuts, yum).

It rained again today. I just love it. Here it is almost June and we have not had to run the air conditioner once in the past three weeks or so. Windows open and the temperature is perfect. (Okay, a little bit humid but we'll live.)

My psycho barn owls now have two eggs. The female is not the most devote mother-to-be--she leaves the eggs quite often, but I blame her mate, who is a haphazard provider. He is supposed to be feeding her steadily but she sometimes has to leave the nest and go roust him. It's highly entertaining and addictive to watch.
