New bird!

Walking to the post office I heard an alien birdcall, so I checked it out. It was the little yellow fluttery thing I've been seeing. Rob was able to see it better than me (he has very sharp eyes from spotting pennies while we walk). So when we got home we looked it up in the bird book, and I listened to a few calls on line, and we figured it out. It was a yellow warbler, which appears to be a pretty common little guy, but he only migrates through my area. So he's unusual for me.

Mr. Yellow Warbler brings me up to exactly 100 birds on my life list. (The really good birders have thousands!) I did join the Audubon Society recently, so I'm official.

Not too much writing today. Lots of interruptions, small annoyances and errands. Plus, okay, I was watching a few webcams. There are webcams of osprey nests, falcon nests, cockatiel nests, owl nests, duck nests, and I love to watch them. I'm hoping to catch one with hatching eggs one of these days but so far I've missed the actual hatching. And, hey, the National Zoo is on Panda Pregnancy Watch, so I could have a panda baby to watch in a few weeks.

Yoga was lovely. Just me and my teacher, Cheryl, because everyone else canceled. We did some fairly active stuff to get me huffing and puffing. Now I'm printing out pages for critique.

YAY THE PAGE-O-METER IS BACK!
