The inaugural bike ride

Today I took my first bike ride of the season. It was just such a gorgeous day, and I figured if I didn't ride my bike today, I should just sell it and move on. Anyway, we rode to the train station, rode the train, changed to a different train, then rode a ways to White Rock Lake, where there is a bike trail that goes all the way around, about 9 miles.

Should have been a pretty easy ride, but we definitely weren't the only ones who wanted an outing today. The trail was choked with pedestrians, people with dogs, little kids on little bikes darting everywhere. So although it's a lovely trail, I get very stressed trying to avoid accidents. Still, I really enjoyed the ride.

On the way home we had to carry out bikes up a long flight of stairs to get to the train station. When we got to the top the train was arriving and we had to run as fast as we could to make it. We barely did. Then the DART police scolded us for getting on the wrong part of the train (instead of at the back where there is a little more room for bikes). But if we'd been fussy about which door to use, we would have missed the train altogether.

Once home, Rob made spaghetti with meat sauce (we use ground turkey) and I didn't feel guilty at all snarfing that down! I earned it! I've been completely useless ever since.

Hope your weekend was wonderful. It's only 9:30 and I'm ready for bed!

Kara
