Getting into a new book

Okay, it's not a brand-new book. It's one I was working on last year, a light romantic suspense. I've read through all 134 pages, and it's not terrible. The first sixty pages, in particular, make me happy. The rest needs work. Other than that I have a really lousy half-synopsis and a story board that doesn't come close to matching the actual pages. This book, while it has a promising start, needs some major work.

Frustrated, I decided to update my database where I keep track of all my book submissions. Do you know that since I've been writing, I've made 262 submissions, resulting in 55 sales? That's almost 1 sale per 5 submissions. It doesn't sound so bad when you look at it that way.

I did mail off TAKING DOWN THE DEVIL to my agent, yay. Oh, and I got some good news. Harlequin is going to keep my title, GOOD HUSBAND MATERIAL, and that book is scheduled tentatively for January 2008.

Rob and I actually drove to the grocery store to stock up. His mother and her partner (boyfriend? He's 80 years old.) arrive tomorrow for a few days and we thought it would be nice to have some food in the house. We went to Norma's for dinner, though. Bacon and egg sandwiches--yum.

Thanks for stopping by,
Kara
