Baby Birds Already

It's hard for me to believe, but I saw a baby house finch today, already out of the nest and flying around. The only way I knew it was a baby, and not a female, is that it was following the daddy finch around and begging to be fed. It seemed perfectly capable of eating the thistle from the feeder, but still wanted to be fed.

Daddy Finch practiced tough love and totally ignored the little beggar.

It was a quiet day. I worked some more on rewriting and reorganizing my new book, trying to get it to behave, but I'm having problems. I think it might be that I'm so excited about this story, I'm afraid I'll ruin it and it paralyzes me.

This afternoon I filled out the online Art Fact Sheet for GOOD HUSBAND MATERIAL (It's the form the art department uses to create a cover, and it takes hours to fill out all the pages, describe the characters, the setting, then suggest several scenes that might work for the cover). Later, Rob and I went to Norma's AGAIN for bacon-and-egg sandwiches and tater tots. Yeesh, and I have a doctor's appointment later this week where I have to get on a scale. Scary!

Thanks for visiting,
Kara
