I wanted rain, but ...

... this is a bit excessive. I did not blog last night because we were having a thunderstorm and I had to turn my computer off. Tonight it's pretty much the same deal, but I can't go without blogging for TWO nights so I'll squeeze a quick one in.

Besides, I have news. Well, sort of. I finished TAKING DOWN THE DEVIL, my serial killer book that I've been working on for, like, years. I printed out the manuscript today so that I can't make any more changes to it. I still have to update the synopsis, because I know it doesn't match how the book turned out. But I'm planning to mail it soon.

Today Rob and I walked to the library (where I left my umbrella, darn it) and then to the dollar store, where we bought two packages of highlighters and two packages of pens. That's because tomorrow we're attending an all-day workshop by Margie Lawson. I've heard this is a really good workshop--it's on character development, and we have to bring 50 pages from a current WIP and we're going to use the highlighters on them. FUN. (Rob doesn't think it sounds fun. He hates this kind of thing.)

Tonight we celebrated me finishing my book by going out to Vitto, where I had my favorite spinach/cheese tortellini. MMMMMM. Then we came home and watched the first episode of "Firefly," which we've never seen but we've heard people rave about the series. We liked it okay. I'm not that big on space stuff, and this struck me as a bit derivitive. Like, Star Trek meets Star Wars, with Han Solo as the main character. But it was watchable. We have about six episodes on DVD so I'll keep watching 'til I'm bored.

Have a great weekend,
Kara
