Greetings from Sunny Virginia Beach!

Sunny, but cold. Yesterday it was in the thirties. It's supposed to get a little warmer today and warmer still for the weekend. Unfortunately, this is spring break around here, so the businesses will be hurting. (I don't know where the college kids are going, but I don't think it's here.

Rob is attending EpiCon here, which is a conference put on by the Electronically Published Internet Connection. I'm just hanging out at the hotel. Last night we did a thing at the mall, trying to get people interested in e-books by giving away free sample CDs and goodie bags. But the mall was pretty dead.

Today Rob is going to workshops and I am going birdwatching. There is a nature preserve very close to here, with some migratory ducks. (I already saw at least one new bird--a black-backed seagull (I think that is the name, I don't have the bird book in front of me). I was lucky enough to stumble across a wonderful field guide at a little museum right next door to the hotel. It's a duck decoy museum--complete with a guy who carves and paints beautiful decoys while you watch.

I'll be blogging in the mornings 'til Sunday, 'cause the Internet hot spot is down in the lobby and it's easier to go down there then.

I'm being chased out of my spot by a workshop, so I'll see you tomorrow!

Kara
